Ruth Olga Sherman

Ruth Olga Sherman began her movement studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Boston.  At the age of 9, she was chosen to perform at the Wang Center with the world-renown Savion Glover under the Umbrella Arts Foundation.  

Ruth has studied all movement styles of dance; ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, Ballroom, Latin

Ruth attended Northwestern University where she received a BS in Communications Studies, International Studies and a Minor in Cultural Anthropology

After graduating, Ruth accepted a contract with Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago.  She enjoyed working with world-renown choreographers and touring internationally for four seasons.  

Ruth returned to Northwestern University as a faculty member teaching third year Dance Majors a Giordano Jazz technique class.

In 2008 Ruth began her Career dancing in Europe.  She enjoyed a contract with MIR Musik Theater Gelsenkirchen.  
As well, she worked with Eastman Sidi Larbi Company at the Deutsch Oper Berlin in collaboration with La Scala.  

Ruth is now a Masters Student in the Visual Media and Anthropology program at Freie Universities Berlin.   She will complete present Thesis in October 2015.  

As well, Ruth is co-founder of Transcen-Dance, engaged in freelance collaborative artistic projects throughout Europe.
